As part of its growth strategy, GERHARDI Kunststofftechnik has decided to expand its company activities and build a plant in Montgomery, Alabama in the US.

The decision for the location in Montgomery was made after a detailed site-selection-process; several advantages convinced the management: the location with its good local infrastructure and its favourable traffic connections.

The company plans an investment of $38 million in its core processes of injection moulding, electroplating and assembly. The construction of the new location comprises a production area of approximately 10,000m², and further extensions are possible. The plant will create 240 new jobs in the region.

“This is an important decision for us and at the same time a milestone in the company history of GERHARDI Kunststofftechnik. We are looking forward to co-operating with those on site and with our customers in the US," said Reinhard Hoffmann.

The traditional company from Lüdenscheid is one of the Europe market leaders in the field of development and production of galvanised and technically complex plastic parts.
GERHARDI Kunststofftechnik has approximately 1,400 employees producing interior and exterior plastic parts for the automotive industry at its Lüdenscheid and Ibbenbüren plants.
